Why do you need to visit Juifen?
Juifen was once a prosperous mining location. From the top of the mountain, it is overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Its quaint streets and tea houses are some of the main tourist attractions these days. It has also inspired movie makers to create movies based on the Jiufen’s location and history. One of the most loved anime movie ” Spirited Away” is one of them.
By Train
From Taipei Main Station, take a train to Ruifang Station. When you get to Rufiang, exit and turn left when you get to the main street, walk straight. Cross the street to a bus stop next to a police station. Take the Keelung Transit bus to Jiufen and Jinguashi. From the bus station its takes 15 – 20 minutes to Juifen. Fare is NT$15
By Bus
From Bade Road, Taipei: Take bus no. 1062 ( Keelung Bus) at Adventist Hospital bus on Bade Raod from Taipei or take the same bus from Songshan Station or Zhiongxiao Fuxing MRT from Exit 1.The trip will take roughly an hour to Juifen. Make sure to have the exact fare amount. Fare cost is 120 NT$.
From Fuxing MRT: Take the exit #2 of the MRT. Once outside, look for the bus stop which is located in front of the MRT exit. Check for bus no. 1062 schedule.
By Shuttle Service
There is a shuttle service that is available on Shifen Old Street to Juifen from Ximen in Taipei which you can check online for the daily schedule. It leaves Taipei around 8:45 in the morning and returns back to the city before 8:00PM. Seats must be booked 1 day in advance. Fare: 460NT$ (return).
