Visa Exemption:
There are 48 countries that can enjoy Thailand, visa-free. Tourists can stay a maximum of 30 days when entering the country through an international airport. Through land borders, visitors are allowed a maximum of 15 days. Visa exemption is also applicable to Philippine passport holders. For other nationalities or countries, please refer here:

Flights to Thailand:
From the Philippines, direct flights through Cebu Pacific are always available. Check website for regular seat sales. If you are thinking of traveling multiple countries, the cheapest airline that I can recommend is AirAsia.
Transportation:
Airport to city center airpost bus service, 25 – 40 Baht.
Taxi fare depends on the distance.
There are also options for car rental and limousine service from the airport.
Train service Bangkok:
Airport Link operates daily from 6:00 AM – 12:00 MN from the airport to Bangkok.
You can take these train lines going back to the airport too.
Express Lines departs from the airport every 40 mins.
Phaya Thai Express departs every 30 mins.
City Line departs every 15-20 mins.
Train tickets cost from 15-45 Baht.
Aside from taxis, tuk-tuks are available in the city.
Accommodation:
Accommodation is affordable. A hostel room is as low as 200.00 PHP – 400.00 PHP. Regular hotels good for 2 starts from 500.00PHP. Online reservation or paying your accommodation in the hotel won’t make a big price difference.
Food:
Thai food is one of the best in Asia. It’s a combination of rice, vegetables, meat or fish with unique light tasting spices. If you are not a fan of Thai food, there are plenty of foreign restaurants in Bangkok. Fast foods are also available like KFC, Burger King, Subway and others. Food options are unlimited.
Few Things to Experience in Bangkok
Elephant Tours:
There are plenty of tours that offer elephant trekking or elepehant bath. I booked an elephant trekking tour for 1200.00 Bhat that was together with the floating market visit. It was an amazing experience and the elephants were really friendly. However, I won’t do it again, ever. I just realized how difficult it is for these elephants to carry a lot of visitors everyday just for human entertainment. 😦
Temples:
The majority of the citizens in Thailand practice Buddhism and it shows in its stunning temples. Beautiful gold plated temple complex can be seen almost in every city and province. There is a total of 40,717 beautiful temples all over the country.
Shopping:
Bangkok is one of the best places to shop. It has the largest weekend market where you can buy the cheapest clothes, souvenirs and more in wholesale or retail. Night street markets are also available in its sidewalks. If you want to have the convenience of air-conditioned bargains, MBK is the most famous destination both for locals and tourists. There are shopping markets in the whole of Thailand, so you don’t need to worry about where to find souvenirs to take home for your family and friends.
Floating Markets:
Floating markets are one of the main tourist attractions in the country. This unique market sells fruits, vegetables, souvenirs and other goods to tourists mostly. The prices are slightly expensive compared to regular items that can be purchased in stores which we definitely understand why. It is one of the must visit places when you are in Thailand. It’s best to visit the floating market with a tour since it is located outside the city.
